My husband and I took my dad (Will Chang) out fishing this week and came home with enough fresh sashimi to feed four generations under one roof.
That's the kind of week it's been.
Westlake Realty Group is closed for summer break, like we are every year the week of July 4th. We shut it down twice a year, once now and once between Christmas and New Year's. No half-logged-in, answer-emails-after-the-kids-are-asleep version of a break. Actually closed.
I'm convinced more companies should do this. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and a team that never fully unplugs never fully recharges. Spending the week doing the things we love outside the office is what lets us run hard for the other 50.
For me that means family, fishing, surfing and cooking. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Happy (early) 4th of July!
...and thank you Julie Hajjar for letting us take out your boat for the day!
What's the thing you do on a real break that actually fills your cup back up?
