You have seen the posts. AI will 10x your business. One tool. One workflow. One moment where it all clicks.
That is not how it works.
Let me show you what 30 minutes of AI actually looks like in my business (and I won't even make you comment AI for the helpful stuff).
Last week I wanted to visually see how our offer price for a potential acquisition compared to the comps during our first underwriting pass. We always put this together when we do decks but I wanted to see it early and I wanted it done fast, so I built a custom mapping tool for our acquisitions team in under 30 minutes.
Claude Code already has a repository of our acquisition models. I called on it and noted which tabs to draw on (sales comps and leasing comps). It geocoded every address, built an interactive map, and color coded every pin relative to our offer price. Red is the subject. Blue is anything that traded above our basis. Green is anything below. One glance and I know exactly where we stand on a deal.
Thirty minutes. Start to finish. But those thirty minutes only exist because of the hundred small projects that came before them. The investor memo we rebuilt in HTML. The underwriting tool I automated. My excel-python integration. My personal side projects like how to raise my baby chickens (just checking to see if you’re still reading). Each one taught me something. Each one made the next one faster.
This is what people get wrong about AI in their business. They are waiting for one big implementation. One platform. One moment where it all clicks.
The truth is AI compounds. A hundred small projects quietly lower the floor on what is hard. And then one day something that would have taken three days takes thirty minutes and you barely notice it happened.
That is the whole game.
Below is the map of our recent acquisition in San Diego. This map told our investors everything they needed to know about this deal.
What is the small project that finally made AI click for you?
